Aerologs ("Aerologs," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile and web application that lets aircraft owners, mechanics, and flight schools scan, organize, search, and share aircraft maintenance logbooks using AI. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using Aerologs, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an Aerologs account, we collect your name and email address to set up and authenticate your account, and to communicate with you about your account and the service.
Logbook photos and content
When you scan a logbook page, we collect the photo or image you capture, along with the data our AI extracts from it (dates, flight hours, maintenance descriptions, Airworthiness Directive references, signatures, and similar entries). This content is stored so you can search, review, and share it.
Purchase and subscription information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, purchase history and subscription status are collected to manage billing and access to features. Payments are processed by Apple (via the App Store) or our payment provider; we do not store your full payment card details.
Usage and diagnostic data
We collect basic information about how the app is used (such as feature interactions) and technical diagnostic data (such as crash reports and performance metrics) to help us fix bugs, understand feature usage, and improve the app. This data is used for app functionality and analytics purposes and is not used to serve third-party advertising.
Identifiers
We use an internal user ID tied to your account to keep your data organized and secure. This identifier is not used for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Aerologs app and your account
- Process AI-based scanning and extraction of logbook data
- Enable search, chat, and sharing features within the app
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Provide customer support
- Monitor, diagnose, and fix technical issues, and improve app performance
- Communicate with you about your account or changes to our service
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Sharing and Team Access
Aerologs lets you invite mechanics, co-owners, inspectors, or buyers to view your aircraft's logbooks and documents, with permissions you control (temporary or permanent, revocable at any time). Content you choose to share is visible to the people you invite, according to the access level you set.
We may also share information with service providers who help us operate Aerologs (such as cloud hosting and AI processing providers), under confidentiality obligations, and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Aerologs or others.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and logbook content for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or financial recordkeeping).
5. Data Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, and other administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of your account information directly in the app, or contact us using the details below to make a request.
7. Children's Privacy
Aerologs is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. International Users
Aerologs may process and store information on servers located in different countries. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest revision.
